Meet the Leadership
Lyndsay Edwards, Coordinator
Why did you sign up or why were you led to do this MOPS role? When i joined MOPS almost 3 years ago I would have never imagined myself in this role...God had other plans. MOPS helped me make it through my first year as a new mom. I was alone and scared and I found a place of security with the women I met here. Since joining MOPS I have grown as a mom, wife, and friend and have developed a closer relationship with the Lord. How could I not give back to a ministry that has changed my life!
How long have you been a part of MOPS? This will be my 3rd year of MOPS.
What was your favorite game as a child? I loved playing Sorry with my family on Friday game nights :)
What is your favorite part about MOPs or what do you first remember about MOPS? My favorite part about MOPS is the friendships with the women who constantly encourage you to grow and be a better mom, wife, and friend. My MOPS girlfriends mean the world to me and I appreciate all the love, support, and wisdom each unique friend has to offer.
Mother to Logan, Age 2

Heidi Lippy Sprinkle, Co-Coordinator
Why were you led to do this MOPS role?
I was at home with two little ones after having been a career woman. I was lost in the hardest job I had ever had. I simply needed to know others were walking the same walk. Joining MOPS was an awesome decision and I am so excited to watch other women experience the “Ahha, so others do feel like I feel!” moments!
Attended MOPS: 3 yrs
What was your favorite game as a child?
indoor: Chinese Checkers, Outdoor: Capture the Flag
What is your favorite part about MOPS?
What has left the biggest impression upon me… is when I walked into church the weeks after attending my first few MOPS meetings, I suddenly had a community of people, women, with whom I could connect, even via a quick smile as I slipped in late during worship…probably due to a last moment diaper explosion or lost diaper bag!
Mother to: Madeleine age 9, Olivia age 5, Rebecca age 3 My last Moppet!

Kara Pereira, Registration and Finance Coordinator
Why were you led to do this MOPS role? At the end of my first year of MOPS, a few positions were listed as being open for the coming year. After prayerfully considering each open position and thinking about where my strengths lay, I decided to sign up at the Registration and Finance Coordinator position. It can be quite a challenge keeping all the registrations and dues organized, but I really enjoy this position!
Attended MOPS: 2 yrs - Lyndsay Edwards asked me to come with her to the MOPS kick-off in August 2009. She and I had new babies at the time and came together to get a break from those babies- now active toddlers!
What was your favorite game as a child?
I remember playing a lot of Chutes and Ladders and Candyland with my mom and younger sister as a small child (my mom claims we girls always inexplicably won- she still can’t explain how we consistently won at games of chance) , and then as an adolescent I used to play Mall Madness (loved the fake credit cards!) and Girl Talk (Do you remember the fake zits??)
What is your favorite part about MOPS?
I love being able to come to MOPS on a Monday morning, dropping off my pleasant and well-behaved toddler (sense the sarcasm there?) with the wonderful MOPPETS workers and enjoying a GREAT breakfast, coffee and catching up with my MOPS girls without any interruptions from my kids!! Who doesn’t love THAT? I have connected with some awesome ladies through MOPS. For an extreme introvert like me, MOPS has been a lifesaver when it comes to connecting with other moms. We may not all parent the same, but we can come together and learn from each other and share our experiences with one another.
Mother to: Jamie age 7, Elisabeth age 2

Why were you led to do this MOPS role?
I’m a graphic designer and many times I’ve felt led to use my talent in a tangible way that serves God but never really pursued that idea. When I was approached about a need for someone to design the MOPS newsletter this coming year, I felt it was the perfect opportunity to serve.

Hmm, there were a lot of games I liked... if I had to pick one I guess I’d say “Sorry!” was my favorite board game.

Do the delicious homemade breakfasts count? ;) I just love the wealth of knowledge we are offered through the speakers and each others’ experiences, and the fact that I know every one of the moms in the room is either going through or has already gone through the very same challenges I’m currently experiencing in my own walk through motherhood... it makes me feel better that I’m not alone and have a network of support!

Why were you led to do this MOPS role? I am an event planner by profession with experience in coordinating speakers. I also wanted to meet more of the women outside of my small group and serve the group in some way so this role was a natural fit for me.
Attended MOPS: 1 1/2 years
What was your favorite game as a child?
Jump rope
What is your favorite part about MOPS or what do you first remember about MOPS?
I had “shopped” around many of the mom’s groups in the area and all just seemed to be playgroups with the moms sitting around complaining. I didn’t want that negativity in my life. I knew a few of the MOPs members and they loved it so I thought I’d give it a try. One visit and I knew this was the right group for me. I love the fact that there is always part friendship and part learning with every meeting.
Mother to: Faith - age 5, Joey - age 2

Kristen Staggers, Welcome Team Coordinator
Why were you led to do this MOPS role?
When I was growing up, we lived overseas and moved a lot. From 1st grade through 12th grade, I attended 9 different schools and lived in 4 different countries. I was the “new person” more times than I can count! I remember the people who reached out me to make me feel comfortable when I was nervous and sometimes lonely. I hope to help new moms feel welcome and that they truly matter here at MOPS!
Attended MOPS: This is my 4th year at MOPS, and I love it so much that I’m starting to think I need to have more kids so I can stay in MOPS longer!
What was your favorite game as a child? Hide the Thimble -- My mom or dad would hide a thimble and call out “Hot” or “Cold” as my sister and I looked for it, depending on whether we were getting closer (“hotter”) or farther away (“colder”). We played it almost every day after dinner and I never got tired of it!
What is your favorite part about MOPS?
I really enjoy small group discussion time. It’s comforting to know that other moms struggle with the same things that I do!
Mother to: Holly - age 6, Michael - age 4
